Project 7 * * * Final Proposal

The first photo proposal goes like this:
My mom suffered a stroke in February 2016 and I'm capturing her recovery efforts. She's right handed and the medical malfunction affected her whole right arm. The goal is to document, thru pictures, my mom's journey to therapy and some of the exercises she participates in to get her back to normal. My mom has to use her left hand for everything and these efforts are seized also. My picture shot list shows; 1) The walk to her therapy session, she's just a shadow of her old self, 2) the actual theraputic workout,  4) the ride to return home.
Walking to the therapy session     F10, ISO 200, 1/160 sec

Stretch workout of the right hand    F5,  ISO 500, 1/60 sec

Putting spoons back into the cup   F3.8,  ISO 320,  1/80 sec

Using the right hand to fold towels     F5,  ISO 500,  1/50 sec

The ride to return home          F10,  ISO 200,  1/20 sec

My second proposal would be a documentary of the city of Cincinnati, listing some everyday historical sights as well as dramatic present day changes. Located in Ohio, the 17th state of the Union, Cincinnati is the third largest city in the state that's located on the north side of Licking and Ohio rivers. Cincinnati was named as one of the first American cities founded after the American Revolution, and has an enormous background in German culture. The photo shot list displays 1) The Cincinnati skyline from the Carew Tower overlook, 2) the bronze fountain on the square, the center of Cincinnati, 3) the lamp stand in front of historic Music Hall, home of The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, 4) the reflection of the yellow Big Mac Bridge that crosses over the Ohio River into Kentucky.

I enjoy this photo because it shows the relaxation of time. The pointer on the bow of the boat and the arch of the bridge,  represents a Sundial and is the focal point that draws the eye to this oval reflection that's completed on the water. Somehow the stem on the tip of the boat lures the eye to chase the person running across the bridge to the other side. A portal is formed and frames the building, tower, and another boat parked up ahead. Gazing up into the sky, your eyes are pierced by a small sun spot, glaring through the cloudy atmosphere. The shadows upon the waters and bareness of the trees gives the area a wintery, early morning calm.

New Orleans, Louisiana back in 1947 was a city rich with Jazz and Blues Musicians who could make a living performing there. I love this picture because it displays a little girl's haste, possibly running to the park to hear her favorite artist, with the pure sense of appreciation for this vibrant musical culture. This black and white photo catches a glimpse of the light and shadows of simplicity, and easy living.
