I enjoy this photo because it shows the relaxation of time. The pointer on the bow of the boat and the arch of the bridge,  represents a Sundial and is the focal point that draws the eye to this oval reflection that's completed on the water. Somehow the stem on the tip of the boat lures the eye to chase the person running across the bridge to the other side. A portal is formed and frames the building, tower, and another boat parked up ahead. Gazing up into the sky, your eyes are pierced by a small sun spot, glaring through the cloudy atmosphere. The shadows upon the waters and bareness of the trees gives the area a wintery, early morning calm.

New Orleans, Louisiana back in 1947 was a city rich with Jazz and Blues Musicians who could make a living performing there. I love this picture because it displays a little girl's haste, possibly running to the park to hear her favorite artist, with the pure sense of appreciation for this vibrant musical culture. This black and white photo catches a glimpse of the light and shadows of simplicity, and easy living.
